The irrigation season started at the end of March in the Crau plain with the first flooding of the meadows! Farmers will dispose of regular water turns until October to meet the meadows requirements and produce four growth of Crau hay (three cuts and the last one grazed). For the HubIS project, this season is an opportunity to carry out a baseline performance assessment and identify local needs. Specific equipment has been installed to quantify water flows on the pilot sites, and technical and economic surveys are underway to understand the hydraulic, agronomic and socio-economic functioning of the irrigated systems.
